pretty cool. Got all the way to the end and doubled back to the pit.
A couple of suggestions if you want some feedback.
sometimes he doesn't jump most of the time if i'm pressing A or D. I died on the 2nd gap more times than I care to admit. maybe if reading inputs with if statements prioritize jump first.
Simple gamepad support would be awesome.
if you position the character at 33% and 66% of the screen instead of the edge, then you don't have to immediately move the camera if I change direction only after I start moving and I hit current edge location or something.
AI can see me and engage when I'm above them and they don't have vision on me. Can you give the enemy a break in the firing? They just keep shooting forever.
Also, please send help! I'm stuck in the pit. I think the floor is too narrow and I can't jump out! XD

I agree with svaughn, something is up with the jump. Also, I keep getting stuck on the ledge when I jump.
